USER RESEARCH

During the first phase of the project our goal was to learn about the typical (A)WAKE user. By mapping the user, the wishes and needs can be investigated for the development of concepts and ultimately a prototype that fits the users.

During the investigation, the measures taken by RIVM and the government were complied with and it was decided to conduct an online investigation. It was decided to track down (A) WAKE users via social media and to develop a persona with all corresponding characteristic factors. These are factors such as age, origin, education, work, hobbies, likes and interests of social media accounts, etc.

TECHNICAL RESEARCH

With the knowledge of how the Netherlands views live streams, a set of questions has been drawn up for an interview. We conducted this interview with people who fit within the framework of the persona. For example, not only general research was conducted, but also aimed at the users of (A)WAKE. Now that the needs of users have been mapped out, research can be done into the possibility of organizing a stream that meets this need.

With broad research of different platforms and services, a technical research document has been developed that contains various specifications that are necessary to organize a high-quality talk. Think of video quality, sound quality, internet speed, and accessibility for (A)WAKE and users.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES

INFORMATION IN ADVANCE

INTERACTION

As a user you need to know what a new upcoming talk is about in advance.
From (A)WAKE itself there's a wish to have more interaction with their audience during the talks.

THE POSSIBILITY TO BE HEARD

STREAM THE TALK AFTERWARDS

(A)WAKE's users have a great wish to be heard in the talks.
To reach a wider audience it's advised to make the content available in more different ways.
